How to Become an SRAAA‐Certified Agent

  1. Submit Application & Required Documents
    • Complete the online Certification Application Form.
    • Provide CAC registration, proof of office address, valid IDs, and evidence of prior placements (minimum 1 student in the past 12 months).
  1. Document Review & Background Check
    • Our Compliance Officers verify business legitimacy, institutional partnerships, online presence, and complaint history.
    • A background check is conducted on all principal officers.
  1. Complete Core Certification Training
    • Online modules via SRAAA’s Learning Management System (LMS).
    • In‐person or online bootcamp.
    • Final assessment (75% pass mark required).
  1. Site Visit & Operational Validation
    • A field compliance officer inspects your office (physical or virtual), interviews staff, and reviews record‐keeping.
    • Any compliance gaps must be addressed within 10 working days.
  1. Final Approval & Listing
    • Certification Commission review and approval.
    • Issuance of a 2‐year SRAAA Certificate, Agent ID, and National Registry login credentials.
    • Official listing on the public registry, granting you full recognition and trust.

Ongoing Agent Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the SRAAA Code of Conduct
    1. Transparency: Disclose all fees (tuition, service fees, commissions) in writing before collecting any payment.
    2. Integrity: Never falsify documents or guarantee visas/admissions.
    3. Student‐First Approach: Prioritize each student’s academic profile, financial capacity, and career goals.
    4. Data Protection: Comply fully with NDPR—collect only necessary data, secure it appropriately, and inform students of their rights.
  • Maintain Certification Through CPD & Compliance
    • Submit annual CPD logs (minimum 10 hours).
    • Participate in periodic audits and mystery student tests.
    • Undergo remedial training if minor infractions are detected.
  • Report Breaches Promptly
    • Use the “Flag a Breach” form to report any misconduct by other agents, institutions, or service providers.
    • Keep detailed digital and physical records to support audits and compliance requests.
NDPR Compliant
  1. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for registration with the Student Recruitment Advisors Agent Association (SRAAA), an agent or agency must meet the following criteria:

  • Legal Registration: Must be a registered business in Nigeria (CAC registration certificate required).
  • Track Record: Must have at least one year of experience in international student recruitment.
  • Institutional Affiliations: Should have partnerships with at least one foreign educational institution or a recognized placement agreement with an accredited international education placement partner or fill a reference form.
  • Staff Training: Key personnel must have undergone training in education consultancycompliance, or student advisory—or demonstrate a willingness to undertake SRAAA-accredited training within 6 months of registration.
  • Good Standing: Must not have been blacklisted or penalized by any local or international institution, embassy, or educational organization.
  • Compliance Commitment: Must agree to adhere to the SRAAA Code of Conduct, Data Protection Policy, and quality assurance standards.
  1. AGENT APPLICATION STEPS

All interested agents must complete the following steps:

  1. Online Registration Form:
    • Visit the official SRAAA website and go to “Agent Registration”.
    • Complete the official online application form with accurate details.
    • Upload required documents including:
      • Business registration certificate (CAC)
      • Evidence of institutional partnerships or fill the reference form
      • Staff credentials or training certificates (If completed any)
  2. Application Fee:
    • Pay a non-refundable processing fee (Free till January 2026)
  3. Compliance Declaration:
    • Review and accept the SRAAA Code of Conduct and Data Protection Policy by checking the compliance box during application.
  4. Submit Application:
    • Submit the complete application for review by the Membership Committee.
  1. REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS

Once the application is received:

  • Stage 1 – Initial Screening:
    • SRAAA admin team will verify document authenticity and completeness.
    • Incomplete applications will be flagged for correction within 14 days.
  • Stage 2 – Committee Evaluation:
    • The Membership and Compliance Committee will assess the applicants:
      • Business legitimacy
      • Student support processes
      • Track record in international placements
      • Understanding of ethical student recruitment
  • Stage 3 – Interview (if required):
    • The committee may invite the agent for a virtual or physical interview to clarify details or verify claims.
  • Stage 4 – Decision:
    • Applicants will be informed of the decision within 21 working days.
    • Approved agents will receive:
      • SRAAA Membership Certificate
      • Digital Badge
      • Access to SRAAA Portal and Network

Step 1: Application

Prospective agents complete the SRAAA Certification Application Form, including:

  • CAC registration certificate
  • Evidence of physical office
  • Principal officer IDs
  • Minimum one student placements
  • One Reference

Step 2: Review

SRAAA compliance team verifies:

  • Business legitimacy and legal status
  • Institutional partnerships history
  • Online presence and marketing claims
  • Background checks on directors

Successful candidates progress to training; others receive feedback and re-apply.

Step 3: Training

Agents undertake an online course via the SRAAA LMS covering:

  • Introduction to Global Education Systems
  • Visa & Immigration Compliance
  • Ethical Recruitment Practices
  • Nigerian Student Protection & Support Abroad (SPSA)
  • NDPR Data Privacy Protocols

Completion requires a 80% pass in the total assessment.

Step 4: Site Visit

A SRAAA field officer conducts a physical or virtual inspection:

  • Office infrastructure and signage
  • Documentation processes
  • Staff interviews
  • Observation of advisory sessions

Agents must address any gaps within 10 working days.

Step 5: Certification

The SRAAA Certification Commission reviews the final application and site report. Upon approval, agents receive:

  • Official SRAAA certificate (valid 2 years)
  • Agent ID & registry number
  • Access to the National Agent Registry portal
  • Welcome toolkit (Code of Conduct, complaint process)

Post-certification obligations include annual compliance reviews and CPD requirements.
